Longevity in the Mainstream

2023 and Longevity hit TV!

For me personally the start of 2023 was a crystallisation of all my current wellness/travel and keep fit efforts.

Starting with Limitless on the Disney Plus streaming service - shortly followed Wim Hoff in the Ice and then Blue Zones on Netflix all showed there was a lot more to living longer and well than potions, wrinkle creams and hair dye!

A further twenty (20) or so books have subsequently been read  since then and it's unfortunately amazing how much contradictary information there is out there - some of it potentially I believe quite dangerous!  So - our approach is to take the Blue Zones approach first of decent diet - moderate exercise and community life-style and then looking at the most sensible science in regards to supplementation/fasting and hot and cold exposure although we're always looking and analysing the latest information.

It's been a quite tragic realisation that there is little concern of whether your health-span will match with life-span - the two are not the same and can lead to a horrific trap - currently being observed in our families older parents (late nineties and early eighties between myself and wives families).

And so our community was born.

Limitless on Disney +

Watch Limitless with Chris Hemsworth | Full episodes | Disney+ (disneyplus.com)

A six episode series looking at Stress Proofing, Shock, Fasting, Strength, Memory and Acceptance.

Quite extreme as I look back at it now but also quite inspirational - well worth a watch.

Wim Hoff

Featuring eight celebrities embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime epic adventure, under the training of extreme athlete Wim Hof, also known as the 'The Iceman.'

The group undertakes challenges that will test them both physically and mentally.

Educational and fun!

Blue Zones - Netflix

Looking at all the Blue Zones around the planet - we can clearly see - with the right interventions we can all live healthily for a very very long time.

My favourite is episode 3 - imagine being 100 and still riding horses and actively working!
